Many would have you believe that the universe is approximately 13.8 billion years old with the earth being approximately 4.7 billion years old.  This assumed age is found in textbooks, articles and commentaries all over the world.

Many assumptions are used as a foundation to come up with this date which we will cover later, but the first and most disastrous assumption made is that this all happened without God. Starting with this Atheistic worldview is the precursor to a multitude of false theories, most of which need billions of years of history to even postulate the complexity of the material world and variation of life on earth as we know it.

These theories commonly make use of “fuzzy words” (see topic fuzzy words) to deliver their ideas and trick the reader into believing that there statements are true, but these statements, when looked at carefully do not validate their theories

What does the Bible say?

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven & the earth.

The bible begins with a historical narrative starting with the creation week in which God creates everything in the known universe and then rests on the 7th day.

Further investigation reveals the genealogy or “family tree” (see Genesis chapters 5 & 11) of every human being and traces them back to our great, great, great, great, great, great gran-dad Adam and his wife Eve who were the first two people ever created on the sixth day with all kinds of land dwelling animals.
Although reading through all the genealogies can be a little boring, the exciting thing is that they have helped Bible scholars who have gone before us to trace right back to the beginning and link all human ancestry right up to the Birth of Christ.

ie: Genesis 5:12-14 “When Kenan had lived 70 years, he became the father of Mahalalel. And after he became the father of Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Kenan lived 910 years, and then he died.”

Below is a graph showing the 6 days of creation which includes the creation of Adam on the sixth day then the family line all the way past Jesus to the current day!

If we were to add up all the years from Adam to now we would get approximately 6000 years of human history.

The reason some people are so desperate for the earth to be millions of years old is because if we have an earth that is only 6000 years old then to even think evolution is true would be absurd.

That also means that they would be accountable to God!

From a clear straight reading of Genesis it is easy to see that God created everything in six literal days and rested on the seventh day.

The word “day” in Genesis is translated “Yom” in the Hebrew and means a literal day.

Exodus 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Some people try to fit millions of years into the bible but that’s just not what God’s word says.

Top ten evidences of a young earth.

1. The Bible

The Bible is the number one piece of evidence that proves a young earth.  Through the timeline depicted above we can postulate that the earth is only approximately 6 thousand years old and not millions or billions of years old.  The Bible is the single most certifiably correct pieces of archaic literature known to man.  It’s internal consistency and historical accuracy build a strong case for a young earth.

1. Soft tissue found in a T-Rex!

In 2005, a team of scientists led by paleontologist Mary Schweitzer published a paper in which they described an unusual femur (upper leg bone) of a Tyrannosaurus rex.1 While the outer bone was completely fossilized, the interior regions were somehow sealed off from fossilizing fluids. Inside the T. rex femur were intact blood vessels and red blood cells. Once freed from the bones, the blood vessels could be stretched—and even snapped back into place!

3.  Population of the earth.

Had the earth been billions of years old the earth would have overpopulated beyond measure.
